And I thought shopping was dull, dull, dull - how wrong was I??? Simon and I toddled off to Sainsburys to do some pre bank holiday weekend shopping and all was very shoppingly boring until I made a brilliant discovery ..... COW BISCUITS! The comedy value of these biscuits made the trip all worth while!

Which housewife are you???

I took the quiz on the 'official' Desperate Housewives site and apparently I am most like Bree!

Apparently that means ... "You're the perfect wife, mother, and housekeeper and just a bit of a control freak. Everyone admires you, but maybe they're just a little bit afraid of you. Step away from the souffle, ease up on the hairspray and learn to go with the flow."

Well interesting observations. I doubt that i am the perfect partner, certainly not a mother as of yet, and housekeeper????? I can barely keep my room tidy for a day! Of course everyone admires me but i think they are only a little bit afraid in case they catch my loopy disease. Step away from the souffle - dude that is the last thing i would get close to unless it was being cooked for me, step away from the hairspray - to be honest i think my hair could do with more to control it not less. Maybe going with the flow is good advice though!

Bree Van De Kamp, i don't think so!

God's Rottweiler

Well it is so good to see that the upper echelons Catholic Church have chosen a new Pope who is truly in tune with the 21st Century. I am so glad he shows a split from the bigoted past of ecclesiastic values and prejudices. Welcome Pope Benedict XVI!

As the BBC news website today states:

Pope Benedict is firmly opposed to birth control, supports the celibacy of the priesthood, and is against the ordination of women. He has said that anyone who supports the "grave sins" of abortion and euthanasia should be denied Communion. He has also spoken out against homosexuality, and once denounced rock music as "the vehicle of anti-religion".

Ah, praise be to God.

Those days

Do you ever have those days when despite trying to be organised you still forget your head?

This morning I gathered a number of things I needed to take to work with me. Put them on my bed beside my bag. Took my bag, got to work and realised I had forgotten everything else.

Grrrrrrrrr.

Spot The Duck

Ahhh so apt and amused me and Rachel in the office. This was Radio 2's webcam of the day:

http://www.dotcomscotland.co.uk/weirdsites/spottheduck13.htm

Welcome to the Spot the Duck Webcam located on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland. Spot was first spotted at Loch Lomond way back in August 2001 and has been sighted several times since. Scientists studying pictures of Spot are totally bewildered as to what type of duck Spot can possible be – there are no known ducks of this type anywhere in the world!! Spot has become an overnight phenomena – an even bigger sensation than the Loch Ness Monster – and he is huge. Tourists from all over the world are rushing to Loch Lomond in the hope of catching a glimpse of Spot. Now you can see him too – if you are patient and lucky.

Springtime. A time for cute baby bunnies, blossom and Sunday afternoon strolling in the countryside. So we headed to Southwater and went for a walk ...

and then fed some more ducks!

I know ... I'm obsessed. It stops here I promise. I'm all ducked out!

What? No Smarties?

I really didn't think that even Nestle could sink this low, but once again I have been proved wrong.

Our SIO bought everyone in our team a Smarties Easter egg as a little treat. Ahhhh how nice I thought. Wrong; it was just one big bitter disappointment.

Simon mentioned to me that there had been a feature on Watchdog because so many kids (and adults like moi I guess) had been shocked and horrified when they opened their Smarties Easter egg and found no Smarties inside. Thinking that would never happen to me I grabbed my Easter egg and read on the front ....

So I thought well they just must have run out of room to advertise the small bag of Smarties you always get inside the egg of a Smarties Easter egg because they had chosen to draw attention to the special egg cup that was part of the deal. So I opened my Easter egg and ...

not even a sniff of Smarties. How rubbish is that??????

Horsham Duck Pond

Oh the obsession with duck feeding continues. Although I have been asking everyone in our office where you can feed ducks in Sussex they neglected to mention that Horsham Park, which is a mere stones throw from our office, has a pond where you can feed the ducks. As the sun was shining Rachel and I decided to go play with the ducks at lunchtime!

The ducks were a little randy with it being Spring and all but was a great way to spend lunch time me thinks!
