Oh how I long for a hungry duck!

I went with Wayne to feed the ducks at the Embankment today. However, despite buying rather expensive bread from the local shop it soon became apparent we arrived too late. The river was awash with bread and the nonchalant swans had already had their fill. To say they were not interested is an understatement. The only creature that wanted our bread was the hungry horse in the field.

So I am now on a search for a pond with ducks, not swans, who are hungry and appreciate being fed.

Easter Nests

I wanted to make East nests like we used to at primary school so with the help of my lovely sister I set about my mission. The only thing I could remember was that it involved chocolate and shredded wheat which somehow you made into nests and then put mini eggs inside. It all went a little wrong and they ended up looking like ...

I don't think that I am going to make a primary school teacher any time soon judging by these efforts!

Come On Red Bull Racing

I know it was a little late of me, but i checked the results from the Malaysian Grand Prix today and talk about a great result for the Red Bull team so far this season. Makes a change from the former Cosworth / Jaguar days on never actually finishing a race! Does this mean this season will be a little more interesting for following the team? Maybe Red Bull really does give you wings? Well lets hope so - keep it up boys!!!

I hate public transport because ...

The other day I was chatting to El about the fact that since we moved I drive around Brighton a whole lot more than I used to. I couldn't work out why, but today's public transport nightmare reminded me of why I opt to jump in the car more often than not.

Tonight the My Brighton and Hove volunteers had been invited to go to the history centre for a few drinks to celebrate the hard work put in by some of the group on the Brighton Boozers project. On the promise of wine I decided not to drive but to have a few glasses and enjoy the free vino. What a mistaka to maka!

First off I was running late and so decided to catch a bus to town as I though it would be quicker than walking. So there I sat at 1715 impatiently waiting for the bus which was supposed to have turned up ten minutes ago cursing the bus company and questioning why we pay our council tax. Anyway, it the bus turned up and I made it on time to the event.

So, then I left the history centre and decided again (stupidly) that it would be quicker for me to catch a bus home than walk especially as I was wearing heels, so I went to the bus stop opposite Boots. I had just missed one bus and there wasn't another for 1 hour. So I marched up the hill to the station to catch a train back. Got to the station and the train was due to leave in 10 mins, so I went to a self service ticket machine. MISTAKE! You can get a ticket to Outer Mongolia but a ticket to Preston Park Station? No chance. Soooooooooooo then I had to queue in the office for a ticket, so naturally I missed the train because they take so long to serve people. Anyway, to cut what seems like a long story short, I made it to Preston Park station at 8pm, a whole hour after leaving the History Centre. This really makes no sense to me. Why does it take so long to get across Brighton?????? I swear sometimes its worse than London.

Next time I'm taking the car.

Spring Has Sprung!

Well it seems that spring has finally sprung in Brighton!!! Today was spent enjoying a perfect Sunday lunch of chips on the beach whilst lapping up the rays, relaxing on the pebbles and strolling on the Pier. It was like being on holiday and just reminded me after all the dreary weather why I love living in this seaside town!

Sixties Celebration!

Last night Matthew cracked open the bubbly to celebrate Wales winning the rugby in the afternoon and also El's success at getting her place on her counseling course - congrats!

Then after the celebrating, some more drinks and some snacks we hit the Sussex Arts Club for a sixties night ...

Lets just say hangovers were suffered in the morning!

At The Car Wash Woah Woah Yeah!

There comes a time every month or so when your car needs washing which is fine in the summer but in the winter it proves to be a bloody cold task. So recently I have opted to use the car wash.

Now when i was younger visiting the car was was exciting but now i find it an exceptionally worrying experience. I am always worried that the big brushes are going to rip something off my car or the metal bar is going to have a mechanical fault and drag itself over the roof of my car!

Lets just say sitting in the car wash is an angst filled 5 mins!!!

We Never Grow Up ...

Out of all the crappy jobs I end up doing at work I think proof reading is one of the most boring but necessary thing I have to do. However I always find that too much proof reading sends even the most normal people slightly up the pole. Caroline ended up crying with laughter today over a sucession of random names in a statement Rowbotham and Cockpock!!!! Occupational Health must be under some kind of obligation to provide counselling for indexers!

Let The Games Begin!

Well, it has taken El and I ages to get our flat sorted out, but i think we've cracked it. All the crap is in the loft, we have more oversized plants in the living room than you can shake a stick at, I now have a wardrobe and we made a games cupboard:

Within our wonderful treasure trove of a cupboard we have twister (very important for parties involving drunk people), Monopoly for when we have 24+ hours to kill, and Pictionary (which we unashamedly stole from the loft). LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!
